About Gomed (Hessonite)

Gomed is worn to harness the auspicious effects of Rahu in one's birth chart. It is considered a highly potent and miraculous gemstone. It is widely believed that if Rahu occupies a favorable position in one's horoscope, one should definitely wear a Gomed stone. Gomed belongs to the category of Garnet silicate minerals. It is believed to have acquired the name Gomed due to its resemblance in color to cow's urine. According to Indian astrology, the Gomed gemstone neutralizes the malefic influences of Rahu. Astrological tenets suggest that wearing Gomed bestows benefits such as improved health, career advancement, and enhanced willpower. Although high-quality Gomed is available within India, the Gomed gemstone sourced from Sri Lanka is considered particularly potent and effective.

Who Should Wear Gomed?
Generally, individuals born under the Ascendant (Lagna) or Moon Sign of Taurus, Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn, and Aquarius may wear Gomed. However, the decision of whether or not to wear Gomed depends entirely on the specific details of one's individual birth chart.

Nevertheless, Gomed may be worn under the following circumstances:
- When an individual is undergoing the Mahadasha (major period) or Antardasha (sub-period) of Rahu.
- When Rahu is transiting through the 3rd, 6th, or 11th house in the horoscope.
- When Rahu is positioned strongly in the Ascendant (1st), 3rd, 6th, 9th, 10th, or 11th house of the birth chart.
- Individuals working in fields such as speculation/gambling, liquor distribution, the trade of other intoxicants, electronics, the computer industry, and politics may also wear Gomed.
- Those who suspect that they have been subjected to Tantric rituals or black magic may also wear Gomed.
- Before wearing the Gomed gemstone, it should be consecrated (energized) by chanting the Beej Mantras of the planet Rahu.
