Shri Gajendra Moksha Puja
The story of an elephant named Gajendra is recounted in the 8th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam Purana. This elephant, Gajendra, becomes ensnared in the jaws of a crocodile within a pond. After exhausting every possible effort to free himself yet failing to attain liberation, he turns to Lord Shri Vishnu and offers Him a prayer of supplication. This very prayer is known as Shri Gajendra Moksha. This narrative conveys the profound message that when one faces utter despair from all directions, only the divine protection of the Lord can deliver us from our tribulations. The recitation of Shri Gajendra Moksha is truly extraordinary; performing this recitation in conjunction with the worship of Lord Shri Vishnu leads to success and fulfillment in life.
