Manglik Dosha occurs when Mars is positioned in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house of a birth chart. This affliction creates obstacles in engagements and marriages, and gives rise to disputes and discord in marital life. To remedy this, propitiation (Shanti) of Mars is essential. A ritual involving the chanting of Mars' mantras, performing a Havan and conducting a specific Puja of Mars is carried out.
