About Moonstone

Moonstone is a gemstone that is white with a hint of sky-blue; it is semi-translucent. While it bears some resemblance to Cat's Eye (Lahsuniya), it differs significantly in color. It is commonly known as Chandrakant Mani. It serves as a substitute gemstone (up-ratna) for the Pearl; those unable to afford a pearl should wear a moonstone. A large-sized moonstone is just as effective as a pearl. It is worn on the little finger or set in a pendant. It should be worn on a full moon day (Purnima) or on a Monday during the waxing phase of the moon (Shukla Paksha).
