About Citrine (सुनहला)
Citrine (Sunahla) is a very popular substitute gemstone. Although it comes in various colors, the yellow variety is the most widely worn. It is the substitute gemstone for the planet Jupiter. People often wear it as an alternative to the Ceylon (Sri Lankan) Yellow Sapphire (Pukhraj). Citrine appears very smooth and lustrous, and it is very light in weight. It should be worn on the index finger on a Thursday during the waxing phase of the moon (Shukla Paksha). It can be set in either gold or silver. For optimal results, one should wear a citrine weighing at least 10 carats.
