When and How to Wear It
- Before wearing a Yellow Sapphire, it should be consecrated by chanting Jupiter's root mantra (Mool Mantra) 11,000 times.
- A Yellow Sapphire (Pukhraj) should always be worn on a Thursday during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of the moon). If this is not possible, the Yellow Sapphire may also be worn on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday. However, under no circumstances should a Yellow Sapphire be worn on a Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday.
- The Yellow Sapphire should always be worn in the morning. Specifically, the period extending up to approximately two hours after sunrise is considered the most auspicious time.
- It is advisable to wear the Yellow Sapphire set in gold. If this is not feasible, the Yellow Sapphire may also be worn set in silver.
- Before wearing the ring, it should be purified using raw milk or holy water Gangajal.
- The Yellow Sapphire is always worn on the index finger of the right hand.
- If possible, the Yellow Sapphire ring should be worn after receiving it from the hands of a qualified and learned Brahmin. One should ensure that the Brahmin from whose hands the ring is received is educated, successful, and over 50 years of age.
- Before wearing the Pukhraj gemstone, it should be consecrated (energized) by chanting the Beej Mantras of the planet Jupiter.
